【摘要】:TherequirementsofthisStandardcoverarc-faultcircuit-interrupters(AFCIs)ofthebranch/feeder,outletcircuit,portable,andcordtypeintendedforuseindwellingunits.Thesedevicesareintendedtomitigatetheeffectsofarcingfaultsthatmayposeariskoffireignitionundercertainconditionsifthearcingpersists.AFCIshaveamaximumratingof20Aandareintendedforusein120-Vac,60-HZcircuits.CordAFCIsareratedupto30A.Thesedevicesarenotintendedtodetectglowingconnections.Intheserequirementsthetermdeviceisusedgenericallytoapplytoallofthedevicescoveredbytheserequirementsandismodifiedwhentherequirementdoesnotapplytoalltypes.AnAFCIthatisalsointendedtoperformotherfunctions,suchasovercurrentprotection,ground-faultcircuit-interruption,surgesuppression,anyothersimilarfunctions,oranycombinationthereof,shallcomplyadditionallywiththerequirementsoftheapplicableStandardorStandardsthatcoverdevicesthatprovidethosefunctions.ThisstandardcontainsasupplementcoveringtherequirementsforLeakage-CurrentDetector-Interrupters.
