【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthreegradesofcarbon-manganese-siliconsteel,designatedGradesA,B,andC.GradeCmaybeproducedwithaboronaddition.Theplatesarequenchedandtemperedandareintendedforwelded-layeredpressurevessels.1.2Themaximumthicknessofplatessuppliedunderthisspecificationislimitedonlybythecapabilityofthechemicalcompositiontomeetthespecifiedmechanicalrequirements.However,currentpracticenormallylimitsthemaximumthicknessto7/8in.[22mm]forGradesAandB,andto2in.[50mm]forGradeC.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.
